Welcome! I am Drew Melton, and I will show you how I create master-quality art through my drawing and painting lessons. There are also art videos you can watch. They range anywhere from five minutes to two hours, so be sure to check them out.

I will show how you can take the techniques that master artists use, and put them to work for you right now. These are techniques have been used by artists for hundreds of years. Piece by piece, I'll show you a new technique that you can start using in your own art right away.

What are your reasons for wanting to learn art and become a better artist? Is it to get more compliments? To win awards? To express your creativity? Or is it for the joy of being able to draw or paint whatever you want? Maybe you just want a little motivation to get back in the art studio.

Whatever your reasons, learning some new techniques will bring you a new motivation to get out there and create some art. It's more fun when you have just learned some new skills. It's great to be able to test them out.

In addition to actual techniques, if you are interested in selling art or doing shows, I have some articles in the art careers section that you might like.

Learn Painting TechniquesWhether you are getting ready for college, finished with college and looking for another place for a more advanced art degree, or just doing art as a hobby, you will find my articles useful.

I write articles both for advanced artists and complete beginners. There is something for everyone.

I will cover as many things as a fine artist will need to know. I will be going over many different techniques such as negative space, accuracy, color, value, and more. Each new technique you learn will make your art a little bit better.

Remember that even if you are a painter, you should still check out the drawing section. It a very important skill for developing accuracy, form, and value in your paintings.
